Nordic Nics Good Friday Isolation Challenge

Its easy, we promise.

Measure out a 200m stretch of pavement, footpath, trail or around your garden. The important thing is to make sure you are adhering to the Government social distancing rules

Make sure you are feeling ready, although you can take it at what ever pace you like, easy or hard [are there any other paces out there??].

This works best if your 200m stretch covers a slight incline or hill in it.

From the top:

  1. Nordic Walk, in Gear 2 [Handshake to hip with some effort] to the end of the measured 200m course
  2. Without rest, turn around and Nordic Walk in Gear 3 [Past the hip and extend behind the body for more push and effort] back up the 200m course, PUT SOME EFFORT IN YOU 'ORRIBLE LOT!]
  3. Nordic Walk, in Gear 2 [Handshake to hip with some effort] - this is recovery so not too hard... but keep the pressure on still
  4. Without rest, back up the incline/200m course, but this time Double Poling on each step. Don't forget to change the lead foot every now and again.
  5. Nordic Walk, in Gear 2 [Handshake to hip with some effort] - this is recovery so not too hard... but keep the pressure on still
  6. Without rest, back up the incline/200m course, but this time Nordic Skipping [Bring me Sunshine] - KEEP PUSHING
  7. Nordic Walk, in Gear 2 [Handshake to hip with some effort] - this is recovery so not too hard... but keep the pressure on still
  8. Without rest, back up the incline/200m course, but this time Nordic Run [this is opposites, so every pole strike corresponds with the opposite foot strike - not the 'Running with Poles' 1/2/3/4 you learnt with Mountain Run. - KEEP IT MOVING, PUSH REALLY HARD NOW!

Thats it, you're are done.

Do it over 5 days or 10 if you like taking a break between each day.

Time yourself each set/session and see if you can IMPROVE on your time.
