Come and join us on a magical and highly technical night run around the Helvellyn Edges and CatstyCam. Striding and Swirral Edge are wonderful in the day, severe in the grips of winter, but combine winter and night and you get something really magical.... assuming the weather doesn't get in the way!
Book via SI Entries below:
A professionally guided night run around the Edges of Helvellyn. This all depends on the weather and conditions on Striding and Swirral Edges, but if we can't make the loop due to conditions then the back up plan will still excite!
Expect it to be dark, expect us to light up the mountains with Silva Trail Speed 3XT's, expect it to be epic, expect it to be exciting and expect it to be extreme and expect it to feel and be very wintery.
Winter mountaineering skills are essential and previous experience of winter mountain conditions is required by all participants on this event.
We'll meet in Glenridding at 19:15 at Mountain Run HQ, where we'll have a quick chat, make sure everyone is geared up correctly and then we'll be heading off up Mire's Beck to start Striding Edge by 19:30. You will be guided expertly by our team at Mountain Run. We will be roughly 4 hours, could be less and be back in Glenridding by 23:30.
Any runner who has dreamed of spicing their 'running life' up a little and heading out into the mountains to have some extreme fun (safely we hasten to add) around the Edges of Helvellyn.
Trail runners, Ultra runners, Mountain/Fell runners and Sky runners are all welcome. Road runner? No worries, we'll look after you all the same. Don't forget, we're all in one happy family.
**You will need to have had some experience of running at night, some experience of running over technical terrain and some experience of running in foul weather conditions and some experience of easy winter mountaineering.

The January full moon is called the Wolf Moon which has its origins in Anglo-Saxon and Native American cultures. Wolves howl to communicate over long distances either as a 'Here I am' call to the pack or as a 'Stay away from me' call to an intruder. During the spring denning season wolves only howl to pack mates. Wolves are particularly loud and vocal in the first months of the year which is why the January moon is usually associated with howling wolves.
Come and join us for an epic route up and around The Scafell Massif from Langdale under the light of the full moon.
